Giving Everyone a Personal Space

To ensure every user on our platform has a personal space, we addressed several pain points to streamline the process seamlessly.

Designer

Impact of work

The implementation of the new flow ensures that all users have their personal space, leading to a 2x increase in user engagement with the platform.

SHIPPED

Problem

Administrators had to manually provide personal spaces to every user, which was time-consuming and prone to errors.

1. Speed

Manual allocation was taking too long for administrators, hindering efficiency.

2. Accuracy

Manual allocation led to errors, with some users being left without a personal space.

How can we speed things up and make it easier to give every user their own space without all the hassle?

Hypothesis

We believe that everyone should have a personal space, this will increase the chances of every user to create a page by 2x.

Selection

Users have the flexibility to select specific groups for personal space allocation, streamlining the process and enhancing efficiency.

Review and give access

Users can now review and allocate personal spaces to themselves and others, ensuring everyone has their own dedicated space.

Exploration

Wireframes

Initially, the idea was to automate space allocation for all users. However, we realized that administrators should have the flexibility to choose which users receive personal spaces.

Final version

The solution involved implementing a modal dialog where administrators can choose to allocate spaces for existing users, new users, or both. If they opt to allocate spaces for only new users, a separate flow allows them to select the spaces. Upon completion, a message confirms space creation.

  • Administrators can now swiftly review and assign spaces to multiple users concurrently, saving time and effort.
  • By incorporating a selection mechanism, errors in space assignment have been minimized, ensuring users promptly receive their personal spaces.
  • With personal spaces readily accessible, user interaction has doubled, as individuals are more motivated to generate content within their designated areas.
  • The streamlined allocation process, coupled with user involvement in selection, has amplified overall user satisfaction, fostering a positive platform experience.
